Cha-ya : Japanese green tea, art, antiques and gifts. Located in Historic Downtown Pacific Grove, California.

Opened everyday except on Mondays.

Cha-ya means Tea shop or Tea house in Japanese.

We carry teas and tea-related items like tea pots, tea sets, tea canisters and tea whisks etc. as well as items pertaining to Tea Ceremony.

We carry Japanese green tea from the prefectures (states) Shizuoka and Uji (kyoto).


  • Gyokuro (one of the most exquisite premium teas in the world)
  • Sencha ( mild taste green tea)
  • Sencha with Matcha ( green tea with powder tea mixture)
  • Houjicha ( roasted green tea appearance brown color, contains less caffeine )
  • Genmaicha ( brown roasted rice with green tea)
  • Matcha (powder tea for the traditional tea ceremony)
  • Organic Sencha ( grow under USDA guide lined organic soil )
  • Ice Green Tea ( Just drop a tea bag into ice cold water wait for 10 minutes makes about 20oz ) in Pear or Peach
We also carry individually packed Drip Tea tea from Uji so you can take it with you!
Packs make at least 6 cups of tea or a pot of tea. These are convenient for the office, hotel and camping.
